It was Thursday May 19, 2022, I was in my office working when I received a text message from a previous client in regards to her brother proposing. Her brother, Nicholas, had a proposal plan with a photographer scheduled but unfortunately that photographer fell ill. It was 2 days before Nicholas' big proposal to Katie and his photographer just fell through. When I first heard the date, I immediately thought to myself... "well, I have a one-year old cake smash in Washington Lake park at 11 am, then have to be at Austin and Maria's wedding by 12 pm....I couldn't possibly make this happen could I?" Of course I did!
I met Nicholas and Maria in Ocean City on the morning of May 21, 2022. He told Katie they were doing a couples mini session for portraits inside his mother's 55th birthday album. He had planned a prompt, write four things you love about each other then turn around and reveal what you wrote.
Little did Katie know that Nicholas was writing "Will you marry me" as his 4 words.
Katie turned around and was in shock but smiling from ear to ear! It was so heartwarming and adorable to see how much they love each other and how happy they both were. Nicholas did an amazing job on his proposal, and the ring! I am so happy I could be the photographer that made it down there to capture Nicholas and Katie's milestone moment. All it took was a little schedule adjustment on my end! I worked for 14 hours that day with minimal breaks, but when you love what you do you don't get tired. I captured a milestone birthday, a proposal and a wedding and I couldn't be happier to be the photographer trusted to capture the precious memories I did that day. It was such a pleasure to meet and work with Nicholas and Katie, I cannot wait to capture their engagement session next!
